Including:- - Where to start? Info stalls / Leaflets etc. Why vegan campaign at all?
- - The law and street stalls.
- - Dealing with all sorts! Tried and tested ways of dealing with all manner of enquiries or responses from friendly to hostile.
- - Resources at your disposal.
- - Forming your own group
- Workshop lead by Nottingham Animal Rights
- 12.00 - Vegan Society & Campaigning
A brief introduction to food-based campaigns by the Vegan Society, how they can help, and the resources available.

- 17.00 - (Don't) Kill it, cook it, eat it
D-I-Y hands-on practical workshops in preparing a variety of foods (including 'Pop My Cherry' Vegan cakes) suitable for giveaway events. Then enjoy the fruit of your labours!
- 18.30 - People's Kitchen
Join Sumac supporters and the local community in sharing the meal prepared earlier.
- 19.30 - Vegan Social at Sumac
inc. video, live bands (tbc), vegan karaoke, open-decks disco (bring your favourite vinyl) plus pure vegan bar at Nottingham's vegan social centre.
- Sunday - Vegan Breakfast Fry-up at the Sumac Cafe

"Something good happened today though. I got asked to do a last minute cake making workshop at the Sumac centre. It went a lot better than expected! The best thing was having kids there to help out as they seemed to love it! Alice was really helpful and ran about getting cooking equipment and stuff, and demonstrating how to ice cakes.
"What was also great was these three boys who wandered in from the road, they were about 10 and seemed a bit cheeky, apparently they were looking for conker trees and thought what we were doing looked interesting. To begin with I was worried they'd be really disruptive and piss about, but I asked them if they'd like to join in and they were soooo enthusiastic! They stayed about an hour, and helped do the icing and mix up the ingredients and it all made me feel really happy. It was just really rewarding for people to be so enthusiastic about something. They kept asking when we'd be doing it again and stuff and saying how much they enjoyed cooking."
 
Whenever possible Veggies feature the publications of the Movement for Compassionate Living, which we print and distribute to promote simple living and vegan self-reliance as a remedy to the exploitation of humans, animals and the Earth. We also support our nominated charity, Vegfam, ‘Feeding the hungry without exploiting animals’.
