ActiVeg is a conglomeration of active veggies, mainly based in the UK. Sophie Fenwick-Paul oversees the ActiVeg site; she coordinates the ActiVeg network and emailing lists. She and Stephen Fenwick-Paul (the major contributor to and designer of this site and LVW) are local contacts for the Vegetarian Society, Viva! and Animal Aid.

We also post up and comment on communications from the Vegetarian Society, Animal Aid, the Dr Hadwen Trust, Compassion in World Farming, the Vegan Organic Network and PETA, as well as relevant national and international news.

ActiVeg is wedded to promoting positive vegan and veggie information and activity spreading, and is completely against violence, aggression and illegal activity. We believe in aiming to be factually and scientifically accurate. We aim to quote from reputable sources and/or national media sources, whilst adding in the veggie, environmental and animal concern perspective. We do not give permission to post news and advice that goes against these core principles. We operate in a trusted contributor model, where we give posting abilities to trusted individuals and we trust readers to feedback to us if they have concerns.

Original ActiVeg Purpose

This site was set up to help all wonderful active veg*ans learn from eachother and get ideas and support. You are welcome to use the resources here for any kind of positive veggie activity. Let's make the world a better place for people, animals and the planet.

ActiVeg has now grown beyond this as it is used by a very wide variety of people who want to or need to know more about vegan, vegetarian and environmental topics and activity, as well as about the positive and gentle aspects of animal rights issues.

It's here you can also find help for active and social veggie-ising and veganising.

All positive active vegans are welcome to contribute their skills, ideas and sense of fun to ActiVeg.

Activeg (formely called LCAT) was the idea of Sophie & Stephen Fenwick-Paul and Karin Ridgers. This website has been set up by Stephen and Sophie, but can be added to by anyone, and has already been contributed to by those listed below.

The whole point of Activeg and this site is to help active vegans to support and inspire both each other and the rest of the world.
